Doing an Advanced Cinemagraph with Visual Effects in After Effects
In this video, we will take your cinemagraphs or animated photos to the next level by adding advanced visual effects, such as the lightsaber effect, using Adobe After Effects.
First, take a picture of your subject. For this tutorial, we will use a photograph of a person in a Star Wars costume. Start by making minor color corrections to your photo using Lightroom or Photoshop. Once edited, import the photo as a PNG file into Adobe After Effects.
With your photo in After Effects, add a background with atmospheric particles. Incorporate a smoke video layer with low opacity to enhance the background. Then, create a new solid layer for the lightsaber effect.
