Doing Advanced Sky Replacement with Compositing in After Effects

In this tutorial, we will be making advanced sky replacements using Adobe After Effects. After Effects is an ideal compositing software for this kind of effect, especially if there is a lot of movement in the scene.

To get started, download the footage used in this tutorial so you can follow along easily. Once you have your footage, go to the composition settings in Adobe After Effects and drag your footage into a new composition. Set your composition to 32 bits per channel. Begin tracking your shot by removing any person or object in front of the camera to allow the camera tracker to process the movement and automatically track it.

Ensure you are at the beginning of your timeline when masking objects from your shot. Watch this video to learn more about the entire process of achieving this effect.
