In this tutorial, we will show you how to create a VHS video look overlay in Adobe After Effects. While you can purchase the project files and apply the effects to your footage, you can also follow these steps to make it your own.

First, secure your video file recorded in full HD. We will make this video look like a very old film. Drag your footage into a new composition in After Effects. Change your resolution to give it an older look.

To complete the VHS look, place the footage into a frame. Adjust the length of the frame or trim the video so the overlay covers the footage from end to end.
