Creating a Simple and Smooth Professional Title Animation with After Effects

In this tutorial, we will show you how to create a smooth and simple boxed title animation using Adobe After Effects. Follow these steps to achieve a professional-looking title animation.

**Step 1: Create a New Composition**
  1. Open Adobe After Effects and create a new composition with full HD resolution (1920x1080) and a 30 frame rate.
  2. Set the background color to white if you plan to use a black box for the title.


**Step 2: Add Your Title**
  1. Select the Horizontal Type Tool (T) and type in your title.
  2. Adjust the alignment of your text using the Align panel to center it in the composition.
  3. Scale your text to fit the frame as desired.


**Step 3: Create the Box for the Title**
  1. Deselect any layers by clicking in an empty area of the timeline.
  2. Select the Rectangle Tool (Q) and draw a rectangle around the text, making sure it's slightly larger than the text.
  3. Adjust the rectangle's position to perfectly surround the text.


**Step 4: Animate the Title**
  1. Select the text layer and press P to bring up the Position property.
  2. Click the stopwatch icon to create a keyframe at the starting position.
  3. Move the playhead forward and adjust the Position value to create the desired animation.
  4. Right-click the keyframes and select **Keyframe Assistant** > **Easy Ease** to smooth the animation.
  5. Use the Graph Editor to fine-tune the speed and timing of the animation for a more professional look.


**Step 5: Animate the Box**
  1. Select the rectangle layer and press P to bring up the Position property.
  2. Click the stopwatch icon to create a keyframe at the starting position.
  3. Move the playhead forward and adjust the Position value to match the text animation.
  4. Right-click the keyframes and select **Keyframe Assistant** > **Easy Ease** to smooth the animation.
  5. Use the Graph Editor to adjust the speed and timing of the box animation.


**Step 6: Final Adjustments and Rendering**
  1. Review your animation and make any necessary adjustments to ensure the text and box move smoothly together.
  2. Once satisfied, render and export your composition by going to **Composition** > **Add to Render Queue**.
  3. Choose the appropriate settings for your final output and click **Render**.
