In this video tutorial, we will provide an overview of how to create sci-fi gun blasts and use the FayIN tracker for tracking in Adobe After Effects. We will show you the elements used to create this animation.

First, we recorded footage against a green screen set up specifically for this animation. You can use a portable green screen, ensuring there is enough space between you and the screen to avoid shadow spill.

We froze the frame on the scene showing the gun and then used the FayIN tracker, which allows for the addition of details from the surroundings. You can add a hologram UI to your shot to give it a 3D look. We also added a turbulence displace effect to give it a warping appearance.
